Natural HIGH has been on a little hiatus in recent weeks.
Why you might ask?. . . . . . I got married!!!! 11-11-11 Yup! “I’s married now!” (gotta love the Shug Avery reference, right?).
Our wedding was simply wonderful. It was an intimate affair in Montego Bay surrounded by our family and close friends. Nothing less than a dream:)
Many may not know this, but I have family in Jamaica. As a child and teenager, my family spend lots of time in there. So the experience to get married in Jamaica was not a random one, but a symbolic one near and dear to me.
Can I tell you a secret?. . . . I am still mentally in Jamaica. š I didn’t want to leave. My idea of a permanent vacation would have been fine with me. There is no doubt everyone would agree:)
Wedding pics to come soon:)
Any who. . . . Of course, I couldn’t go all the way to Jamaica without doing some Natural High work or what I would prefer to call Natural HIGH love:)
We stayed at two amazing resorts while we were there, but there was nothing like getting off of the resort and getting into the culture of Jamaica. <--------This is what we were looking forward to the most. Since, I couldn't take all my readers to the Caribbean, I am bringing to you! So here's part one: There is a common misconception in the natural hair community. Many that have locs for style commonly mis-name them calling them "dread locs". Style is one thing, and a way of life is another. This is something Natural High has explained in a few posts from time to time. Robert and Collin gave us the pleasure of briefly speaking about the Rastafarian lifestyle. They also shared with us what is means to have "dread locs." Thanks Robert and Collin Note: The first 10-20 secs sounds a little low. So listen carefully:)
