So many of us are on auto-pilot and don’t even know it. Living Intentionally just might be the missing magic. Here is why. What we do every day is much deeper than setting a list of goals. For the past 4 years, I’ve given myself a motto or adjective to guide me through my everyday experiences, goals, and mindset.
It continues to feed me in all areas and has been on repeat for quite some time. I thought I would share a little why living intentionally can make a world of difference. Think of it as your “why” to what you do.
Intentional Moments Remembered
How many times have you felt like you were on autopilot? Just going through the motions with your job, relationships, daily tasks etc. When this happens you could be missing out on some amazing moments and memories with family and friends.
Since becoming a mother, I have learned even more how important it is to live in the moment. When you add the word “intention” in your life in this area you begin to think about things in the NOW. Creating memories becomes even more important. Good Times!
Tangible Goals
Dreams become more attainable because you have the big picture in your mind. Sometimes the why can slip our minds from time to time. This happens from dealing with temporary things that have nothing to do with our goals. We must challenge ourselves in this area. There are tons of outside influences that can wear on us. Waking up every morning understanding your “intention” for the day allows you to keep pushing towards those goals. Maybe you are working a second job for graduate school or you have decided to step up your fitness goals. Either way, when times get tough to think about, your intention to step out in the first place and it will all make sense again.
Better Communication
Conversations with family and friends can improve simply because of your intentions. We all have been in an argument or disagreement with someone. Going into these type of situations can have a better outcome if you simply apply the good intention to your thoughts. You must stop and think. What is the purpose of this conversation? What will my words bring to the table for a good outcome? The same goes for everyday conversations with family and friends. We must stop saying “let’s hang out” or “yes I will call you later,” if we really don’t have the intention to do so. I am completely guilty of this myself and it’s an area I will continue to work on.
Tightening up on communication holds us all accountable for what we say.
Some of my favorite quotes on intentional living
Please Note: Intention is NOTHING without action. Everything mentioned above is pointless unless you press the gas and GO! Challenge yourself. I hope this post has left you a bit more inspired and ready to take your good intentions to the next level.
