Anyone contimplating getting sister locks? I have a sister lock journey feature for you:)
Latonia started her lock journey this year. Check out her journey so far:
As you can see from the pictures, I decided to lock my hair. The journey to this decision took about 3 ½ to make. During my free style natural years, I wore a variety of styles ranging from afros to kinky twists, but I am pleased with my final decision to lock it up.
My hair type/texture is very kinky, straight from the motherland coarse, black hair. My hair is also thick. I have been told by my sister who used to put my perms in, that I have five strands of hair to one cuticle. I found this to be somewhat true when visiting styling salons to get my hair done, the stylist would often tell me I have a lot of hair. I would look at them wondering what in the world are they talking about, because there wasn’t much length, but it wasn’t the length they were referring to, it was the thickness.
After doing much research about various styles, I came up on different web sites referencing Sister Locks. I thought they were pretty, but I also knew I had to have a style that would still be considered beautiful as well as professional. I researched the price, the time involved, and finding the right consultant for me. I did not want to go to someone that installed Sister Locks and did not wear them. I wanted someone to tell me exactly what I would experience on a personal level with family and well as my surroundings. As a result of her feedback and not just the attempts to get my dollar bill, she won me over as client and I am officially locked.
