Over 4 years ago, I received a mass email that I didnt just deleted or pass over.
The subject line read something like “Amazing Art,” “Must See.” If you know anything about mass emails, this words can be seen on a daily basis. Many of us consider this junk mail and a simple waste of time.
Despite my time being valuable, I opened the email only to find myself uttering those same words typed in the subject line. I looked at the email 3 to 4 more times and still was in aww of what I saw.
After reading the email, I was then introduced to Sculptor Ron Mueck.
Ronald “Ron” Mueck is a surreal sculptor from Australia. His portfolio expans from Milan to Berlin. Muecks early work may be his most familiar, working as a puppeteer for the movie, The Labyrinth and Jim Henson’s “The StoryTeller.”
I did some research and had to find out were I could see his artwork in person. The closet place to go was The Andy Warhol Museum . So I made it a road trip. My sisters and fiancee took a weekend road trip to see this art that we could not stop looking at in pictures.
The road trip was fun in itself, but getting to the museum and finally seeing this art we called “amazing” was so worth it.
Security was strict. No photography was allows of any of the art. Here are a few we were able to see plus some others that I will try to see on my next visit.
