Who doesn’t love a great festive get-together? One of the first big baby milestones is that first birthday. I would be kidding you and myself, if I didn’t admit I’ve been in my feelings about it.
*Insert my deep sigh*
Well! The party must go on š Chime in the balloons and cake! It was a Wild One Party Animal theme and we celebrated twice. Yes, two times. We don’t believe in just celebrating for one day over here lol (wink, wink) One celebration was with family/friends and the other was just us on his actual birthday.
So get comfy. When it comes to birthday’s my DIY meter goes off š Here are some highlights from both parties.
BIRTHDAY PARTY I
I got this black foam board and some neon sharper markers to complete this welcome sign. My signature DIY face banner has become a staple in my party planning. I made one for big brother too! Love how it turned out:)
So I found these great party animal graphics. Printed them out on cardstock then added them to my leftover colorful straws for cupcake toppers. LOVE.
How cute are these DIY party hats for the animals? The smaller ones I purchased, because I didn’t think I was going to have time to make them. It turns out all the hats didn’t fit on the bigger animals. So, I had to make my own anyway lol
If you need a party hat tutorial, I can hook you up. Special Thank You to our son for letting me borrow his toy animals š And yes I have put them back.
Without fail, I always forget about center pieces in my planning process. I picked up some fresh flowers from the farmers market and it was perfect. The colorful variety went right along with the Wild ONE theme. WIN.
ACTIVITIES
DIY Personalized Coloring Pages (Name blurred for privacy) The children really loved these and kept asking about eating cake when they saw this cake on the page lol
My sister and nephew. Aren’t they cute?
WANNA PIZZA ME?
We created our own simple version of a pizza bar and topped it off with fresh fruit salad. I am always concerned with the little ones eating too much junk. So, having fruit to add into the mix made me feel better lol
Of course we had some goldfish too! You can’t have a party for toddlers without goldfish.
Everyone got into the fruit salad before I could take a pic š Mangos, Grapes, Kiwi, Strawberries, Blueberries, Cantaloupe and Pineapples. YUM.
I CAN’T CAKE MY EYES OFF YOU!
GOODIE BAGS FOR THE LITTLES
When it came the goodie bags, I didn’t want to give the littles anything with candy. (They were already charged up on cupcakes) So we opted for assorted animal masks, 2-D stickers, left over activity sheets, hand flyers and a bubble wand with an extra pack of bubble solution.
He wasn’t feeling this smash cake thing. No matter what we tried he wasn’t having it. Even with big brothers help he was like nah.
BIRTHDAY PARTY PART II
So, we had a mini celebration on baby brothers actual birthday. For a couple reasons:
- Celebrating on the actual birthday is a MUST right?
- He didn’t smash his cake at the party LOL. We were totally in shock. So we thought we would try again when it was just us. Any guesses on what you think happened? See below.
So this biggest DIY for the birthday was my balloon garlands. I really like how my home one came out:) I will be sharing a tutorial video on how you can make our own.
Well, this pic look like he was about dive right in right? SIKE! He still didn’t want any cake LOL
Check out these amazing sugar cookies from Sugary Smiles Cookie Art . Special Thank You to Tiffany for making these for us. We were having too much fun and I forgot to give these out to our guests. So there will be an IOU š

If you have made it all the way to the end of this post. Thank you!! I think this has been my longest post yet! Special thank you to all our family and friends for celebrating with us. We have created more amazing memories. We are so appreciative.
Until the next party!
See ya later š
