It’s hard to believe we are at this stage. I remember when all he drank was milk. Now he’s eyeing my food and has an appetite.
We started solids at 6 months. To our surprise he didn’t want to have anything to do with it. He cried every time the spoon came near him.
It wasn’t until maybe a month ago at 9 months he’s desire to eat solids increased.
When we first attempted solids we introduced 1 food at a time. Then we slowly added more fresh food to his menu.
I have been asked what do we feed him. Here are a few of my purées recipes
In a small sauce pan add:
1 cup of cubed mangos
1 cup chopped carrots
Add a little water depending on consistency preference.
Steam on medium to soften.
Then transfer to a blender. If you have a baby bullet that’s good but a regular blender would work just fine. You can also use a crockpot for bigger batches.
Blend it to purée and serve.
You can repeat these same steps for the following blends:
1 half of a sliced pear
1 sliced kiwi
1 cup of spinach
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 cup cubed mangos
1 cup sliced strawberries
1 cup chopped Green beans
1/2 cup Blueberries
1/2 cup lentils
1/2 cup chopped celery
Leftovers
If I have any leftovers I store in containers in the fridge for 2-3 days.
You could freeze them too in ice cube trays. I haven’t done this because I prefer the fresh but it saves time during the week to just thaw it out and serve.
Walllahhh! Now you can go try these blends with your little one!
