Mini Recap: For Real Girl Beauty Event

Over the weekend we stopped by the For Real Girl Expo in Cornelius, NC. 
The “I Love My Hair and Me” Natural  Hair and Beauty event was a full day of seminars, vending and conversation.

Organizer and Founder, Angela Holland provided a variety of hairstyle demonstrations that can be done in less that 10 mins to updos for evening affairs. 

She also covered the basics on taking care of your hair at home.

Some other featured panelist included Marilyn Forrest, LaShonn Turner, Angelina Pratt, Benita Blocker, Kelly B. Pratt, III, Cynthia Bush and Nadaka Hasan.  A few of the  discussions covered Dental Hyigene, Finance, Natural Hair in Corporate America, Protective Styling and Brand Management. 

Guests had a variety of vendors to shop with.  Some fun booths with great items were Sereniti Bath Body and You, Handbags and Accessories by Pinky, Sassy New Look and JLynn’s Hands of Love. 

All the ladies at the event were warm and welcoming.  It was like hanging out with a group of girlfriends. 

Holland also  recreates these Barbies hair to mimic natural hair styles that have become popular in the community.
